Painting Us Forward

My series “Painting Us Forward” began at the start of COVID-19 as an artistic and empathic approach to connecting with family, friends, and community. As we emerged from the pandemic, we all had a story to tell that revealed our experiences and vulnerabilities, and it’s this understanding that reinforces our human connections. The project encompassed paintings of the people closest to me and people I reached out to along the way, including local business owners. My goal was to communicate hope and resilience through visual storytelling. Filmmakers with Sanatione featured my project in their “Hometown Heroes” episode.
